RULES & TIPS
WHAT TO KNOW

-
Imani is a peaceful bush house surrounded by beautiful sounds of nature. The house is located on the 200 hectare Kuleni Game Park and is one of 17 private properties and lodges managed within the park. There is a lovely network of walking paths to enjoy, just follow the maps provided.

-
Guests are requested to keep noise at a minimum as sound travels easily through the bush and strict sound policies are in place. Please respect the peace, animals and other guests.

-
Spray & lotions. Imani Bush House is situated in a low risk malaria area, but it is still a good idea to bring bug repellents especially for walking through the bush. Of course, sun creams and hats are a must.

-
Bring light clothing, swim costume and a rain jacket for the hot summer months. We recommend warm clothing for winter mornings and evenings and a warm jacket for game walks.

-
Good, comfortable walking shoes and open flip flops/sandals. Kuleni Game Park is a walking only reserve, so guests are not allowed to drive around the park unless en-route to or from the property to the main gate.

-
There are no payment or cash withdrawal facilities at Imani. There are banks in Hluhluwe town 15 minutes drive away.

-
The area often experiences power cuts, so bring along your own torch, although the property is equipped with back-up torches and re-chargeable lamps.

-
We have wifi at Imani and an extension line to Silver Sky Chalet.

-
Guests are required not to smoke inside the house, chalet or cabin nor to throw cigarette butts on the ground.

-
Bring your own binoculars, its a great place for bird watching and you'll need them if you visit the Big Five game parks.

-
Bring all your own food, condiments, coffee/tea and drinks. The tap water is drinkable but bring extra bottled drinking water if you prefer. Hluhluwe town is a short 15 minute drive and has great supermarkets, bottle stores, pharmacies, petrol station and a good local butchery.

-
The properties are serviced daily by our house keeper so you do not have to do your own tidying and washing up, unless you choose to do so.

-
No personal laundry can be done in our washing machine unless arranged and agreed ahead of time with management. A fee of R150 per load will be charged. Washing will be folded but not ironed.

-
Bring your own fire lighters and wood/charcoal for the braai/BBQ. Guests are not allowed to make big bonfires as the surrounding bush can catch alight very easily. Please be careful with open flames.

-
For rainy days, we have a full package for DSTV with all super sports channels and variety of movie and kids TV channels. The Railroad Brewery and The Delish Restaurant are close by restaurants for a meal out.
-
As our house is located on a sand forest so water is precious. We hope you enjoy the plunge pools and the master bedroom has a waterfall bathtub, but be cautious about filling up if there are other big demands on the water in the house.

-
Should you experience any problems or have any questions, please text/phone us or in an emergency go to the park reception at the Main Gate and ask them to contact the park manager.

-
Check-in time after 14h00. Check-out is 10h00. Please let us know in advance if you plan to arrive very late.

-
Park gates open at 04h00 and close at 22h00 for security purposes. If you are out and plan to return after 22h00, contact the park manager to request special arrangements.

-
There are no predators on the reserve so its safe to walk freely. No feeding of any of the wild animals please.

-
No pets allowed on the property due to the presence of wild animals.
